A Christ-centered Community Who Loves Jesus
Community Bible Church Highland Park is a place to Belong, Become and Be! We had our first public service April 6, 2008 with a small group of 40 believers. Today, we are witnesses to God’s transforming power, one life and family at a time.
We Believe by Faith, Worship in Spirit, and Serve with Power
We believe the Bible is the inerrant, infallible Word of the one and only God, our Heavenly Father. We believe God created us for relationship with Him, but, because of the wrong things we have done (our sin) we have broken that relationship. Because of God’s great love for us, He sent Jesus Christ, His Son, to earth as a human to live a sinless life and to pay the ultimate price for our sin so that our relationship with God can be restored. At the cross Jesus took all of our sins away and we walked away with all of His righteousness. As a result, we believe by faith, worship in Spirit and serve with power!
Jesus’ Great Commission in Matthew 28 is our duty and privilege. At CBCHP, we take that so seriously that it has become our vision: Souls Saved and Disciples Made. Jesus commissioned His followers to GO and make disciples. At Highland Park our aim is clear: to go, not come; to become disciples; and to make disciples.
Highland Park is not a typical church where members come to be served and entertained. Here, we discover that by God’s love He has adopted us into His family. As members of His family, God transforms us to be His ambassadors in our homes, schools, community, city and world.
to the Greatest Family in the World
We all have searched for a place to belong, but God’s word teaches us that search is in vain because each of us are pursued by our Heavenly Father. He wants you to belong to the greatest family in the World – His! We are adopted, chosen, purchased, loved, forgiven, united and sealed to Jesus. (Ephesians 1:11-13). Nothing beats belonging to God’s global family, but what enhances it is belonging to a local faith family. If the Lord is leading you, we would love to have you in the CBC-HP Family. We want to let you know what we believe and why. Here at Highland Park, we are intentional about Belonging, Becoming and Being. Join us on our journey. Membership class is the 4th Sunday of the month at 11:30 a.m. click here to register. Interested in Baptism? We follow Jesus’ example of being baptized. Baptism is immersing a willing Christian under water in the name of the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. It is an act of obedience that identifies a person with Jesus Christ (Acts 2:38). Being immersed under water symbolizes a believer’s burial of the old sinful way of life. Arising out of the water symbolizes a believer’s new life in Jesus Christ (Romans 6:4). Baptism class is held at 11:30 a.m. on the third Sunday of each month. Baptisms are held on the fourth Sunday of the month. transformed by the Power of Jesus Christ
It’s true you are a new creation in Jesus! We are saved at the moment we repent of our sins and accept Jesus Christ as Lord of our lives. However salvation is also a transforming process and we are experiencing that process for the rest of our lives. What this means is that our Friend, the Holy Spirit, is powerfully transforming each of us to become more and more like Jesus. We believe Jesus will transform your thoughts, beliefs, attitudes and actions. You will be amazed by His power to transform you! Interested in Becoming a part of our community?
